How navigation works
OptimoRoute allows drivers to start turn-by-turn navigation directly from each stop.
From the order details screen, drivers can launch navigation with a single tap and send the stop’s address to their preferred navigation service without re-entering information.

Supported navigation options include Apple Maps, Google Maps, WAZE, and OptimoRoute Truck Navigation. |
Navigating to a stop
The OptimoRoute Driver app works seamlessly with popular navigation apps, so that you can get directions to your next stop without copying and pasting.
To begin navigation:
- Select the order at the top of the list. This opens up the order details.
- Click the blue "Start Navigation" button
This will open your default navigation system with the order address. At any point you can return to the order details without interrupting your navigation by clicking the "back" button.
| Note: The “Start navigation” button may appear disabled if you’re already very close to the next stop. This is expected. It helps prevent navigation apps from giving incorrect or unnecessary directions when stops are nearby. In these cases, you can usually reach the stop visually or on foot. |
Changing the default navigation
You can choose your preferred default navigation system.
To change your default navigation system:
- Open the OptimoRoute Driver app
- From the bottom of the screen, click "Settings"
- Go to the "Navigation" section and click "Default Navigation"
- Choose the navigation system you want to use
This selection is saved automatically.

OptimoRoute Commercial Truck Navigation helps drivers get safe, truck-friendly directions right from the Driver app. Built specifically for large vehicles, it provides turn-by-turn navigation that accounts for common truck restrictions like bridge heights, weight limits, and restricted roads.
