The depot is where your drivers start and end their routes. When you set up your OptimoRoute account, you choose a depot location. You can change this location later in the settings. This article explains how to update your depot.

What is a depot?
A depot is the main location where routes usually start. It may be a warehouse, office, yard, or other location where drivers begin their work.
OptimoRoute uses the depot as the default start location for drivers. If a driver does not have a different start location assigned, their route starts at the depot.

Change depot location
To change your depot location:
- Go to Administration→Locations from the top menu
- Then from the left "Settings" menu, under "Locations", choose "Depot"
- Search for a new address, move the pin, or input new coordinates to change the location
Add and update mid-route depots
Dynamic Mid-Route Depots lets OptimoRoute choose the best depot for loading or unloading during a route. Instead of sending drivers back to one depot, OptimoRoute can add the most efficient eligible depot based on vehicle capacity, travel time, route structure, and other planning limits.
This feature is useful for operations that need to be able to unload or reload from more than one location.
