What is the order status?
The order status shows whether an order is scheduled to a route or unscheduled.
When an order is on a live plan, the status can also show:
- Whether the driver is on route to an order
- Whether the order is being serviced
- What the result of the order was, such as being failed, rejected, or completed
Updating order status from driver app
The order status in OptimoRoute is updated from drivers in the field by using the OptimoRoute Driver app.
| Status | How it's updated |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | This is the default status for any order that has been sent to drivers. This cannot be set by the driver. |
| On Route | OptimoRoute updates the status to “On Route” when the driver taps “Start navigation” on an order, or when the driver is on duty and moving toward their sequenced stops. |
| Servicing | OptimoRoute updates the status to “Servicing” when the driver taps “Start service". You can also use geofencing to automate this action. |
| Rejected | When the driver clicks "Reject" on the order, then the order status will show as "Rejected". This can also be updated by the dispatcher. |
| Failed | When a driver marks an order as "Failed", then the order status will show as "Failed." This can also be updated by the dispatcher. |
| Completed | When a driver marks an order as "Complete", then the order status will show as "Completed." This can also be updated by the dispatcher. |
Updating order status from dispatch app
Dispatchers can also edit order statuses in the web application. You can overwrite the order status after an order is scheduled and sent to a driver on a live plan.
You may need to update an order status when a driver makes a mistake in the OptimoRoute Driver app, forgets to update the status, or reports the wrong result.
For example, a driver may mark an order as “Failed” when it was completed. In that case, a dispatcher can change the status to “Completed.”
You can edit order statuses from the “Plan and Optimize” tab.
| You can overwrite the order status only after the order is scheduled and has been sent to a driver on a live plan. |

When updating order statuses, you can enter a start time and an end time. OptimoRoute suggests times based on the original schedule and order duration.
For example:
- Scheduled time: 9:25 AM
- Duration: 15 minutes
- Suggested Service Start: 9:25 AM
- Suggested Service End: 9:40 AM
| Order status | Start time | End time |
|---|---|---|
