Changing workflow settings
In order to change the driver workflow settings in the OptimoRoute Driver app:
- Go to Administration→Settings→Driver app
- Choose “Configuration” from the left menu
- Find the section called “Workflow”
- Select the options that you want to enable or disable
- Click "Save"
Below you will find an explanation of what each of these settings does in the driver app.
Allow drivers to reject orders
When performing their routes, by default, drivers can reject an order before they start serving it. This means that they are unable to perform this order for some reason. Dispatchers can also configure proof of delivery to require drivers to leave a note, take a photo or get a signature for rejected orders.
Allow drivers to override the default schedule (start service out of sequence)
When performing their routes, drivers can also decide to skip ahead to other orders and override the route sequence. This doesn't remove any orders from their to-do list, but rather gives them the flexibility to perform them out of order.
Allow drivers to undo order completion
Once an order is completed, this option gives drivers the ability to "undo" the order completion in order to add more information or change something about the order.
Hide start service button
The start service button allows drivers to clock exactly when they begin the service at a designated location. You can hide the start service button to reduce the number of clicks to completion, however this will make the actual duration at the location "0 minutes".
Offer Success/Failed choice when order is completed
This setting provides the driver with an extra information input where they can mark an order as failed or completed. If this option is disabled, the driver will only be able to choose "Completed" and no other options will be available and the order will simply be removed from the to-do list.
However, this option will be ignored if proof of delivery is enabled. In which case, the failed/completed option will show automatically.
Add order completion directly from the order list
In the to-do list, drivers will see buttons directly underneath the order at the top of the list that will allow them to start service and complete the order from the list instead of going into the order details.
Require drivers to manually start/end routes
If this setting is enabled, drivers are required to explicitly start and end their routes so that more accurate start and end times are recorded and ETAs are updated in the event the driver starts at a different time than planned. Learn more about this feature here.
Use button instead of slider to complete orders
By default, drivers complete orders using a slider to prevent them from accidentally completing orders. However, you can turn the slider into a button to make it easier for your drivers to complete orders on the go.
Skip confirmation dialog when overriding or rejecting orders
When drivers are able to override or reject orders, there is a dialog that requires them to confirm that they want to perform this action to prevent mistakes. This setting allows you to remove this requirement to reduce the amount of clicks your drivers are doing in the app.
