You can export routes to an Excel spreadsheet to share route details or use them for reporting. This article explains how to export routes and the Excel export options available in OptimoRoute.

Exporting routes
To export your routes to Excel:
- Go to the "Plan and Optimize" tab
- Choose a date with routes planned
- Click the blue "Share Routes" button under the map
- From the dropdown, choose "Excel export"
- Choose one of the format options
- Choose if you want to export all shown routes, or those from a specific range
- Click "Export routes"
There are four formats for exporting routes to Excel:
- For printing
- Raw data
- Route summary
- Custom templates
All of these templates can be modified. Learn more about how to update templates here.

Export formats
OptimoRoute includes several Excel export formats. Choose the format that best matches how you plan to use the data.
For printing
Use this format when you want a readable version of your routes for printing or sharing with drivers.
Each driver's route appears on a separate sheet. The export also includes a Google Maps link that opens the route in your browser.
This export includes the following data:
- Address
- Capacity Labels
- Custom Fields
- Customer
- Customer ID
- Date
- Driver
- Duration
- Location Name
- Location ID
- Notes
- Order ID
- Phone
- Scheduled at
- Stop number
- Time windows
- Vehicle
Raw data
Use this format when you need detailed route data for reporting or further analysis.
All routes are included in a single sheet.
This export includes the following data:

Route summary
Use this format to export a summary of your routes. You can export the routes currently shown or choose a date range.
The export includes all route summaries in a single sheet.

Custom export templates
Use custom export templates when you want to choose which information is included in the export and save those settings for later.
When you choose the custom export option, OptimoRoute opens a dialog and automatically selects the columns currently shown in your order table.
With a custom export, you can:
- Add columns.
- Remove columns.
- Rename columns.
- Reorder columns.
- Save the export settings as a template.

After you save a custom export template, it becomes available as a one-click export in the export menu.
