From the administration area, you can add drivers and edit information like working hours, breaks, and contact information. In this article, we will cover how to view, edit, add, and remove drivers.

Driver directory
The main area to manage your drivers is from the driver directory. This is where you can see an overview of your drivers and also edit their settings.
To access the driver directory, go to Administration→Drivers.
The columns are sortable and can be expanded to show more information by clicking on any column title, then clicking the exposed arrow.
Adding drivers
There are three ways to add drivers: from the directory, in bulk, and by import.
From the directory
To add drivers from the directory:
- Click “Add Driver” at the top of the table
- Fill in the required driver “Name”
- Fill in any other information you want
- Click “Save”
Adding drivers in bulk
You can add drivers in bulk by copying and pasting a list of driver names into OptimoRoute.
To add drivers in bulk:
- Click “Import drivers” at the top of the table
- Copy and paste a list of driver names into the space provided
- Click “Import”
Importing drivers
Another way to add drivers in bulk is to import them.
To add drivers by import:
- Click “Import drivers” at the top of the table
- Upload a spreadsheet with driver name and other information
- Click “Import”
You can download our sample excel file as a template. The only required field is the driver name.
Editing drivers
Editing drivers allows you to enrich their profiles. You can edit drivers individually or in bulk.
Edit individual driver
To edit a single driver:
- Double click on the driver you want to edit
- Modify the information
- Click “Save”

Edit multiple drivers
To edit drivers in bulk:
- Select the drivers you want to edit
- Click "Edit drivers"
- Modify the information
- Click “Save”
Any edits made in bulk will overwrite any existing information for these drivers

Remember that some information may not be editable in bulk and only available at an individual driver level.
What can be edited in bulk includes:
- If the driver is active or not
- Navigation application
- Default vehicle
- Work time
- Allowed overtime (min)
- Limit route distance
- Break scheduling
- Skills
- Start location
- End location
- Speed
Delete drivers
Deleting drivers will permanently remove them and their historical data from your account. If you want to maintain the driver history, but no longer use the driver, disable them instead.
To delete drivers:
- Select the driver or drivers you want to delete
- Click “Delete drivers” at the top of the table
- Confirm the deletion by clicking “Delete”
This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Deleting drivers will also delete all associated data with that driver. To not lose any history, disable the driver instead. |
